Marine towing company Sea Tow yesterday publicized that requests for service over the Memorial Day weekend were up year-over-year, as much as 228 percent in the Northeast and nearly 29 percent overall from 2021.
The data suggests the influx of new boaters during the Covid-19 pandemic may have contributed to increased requests for services.
According to Sea Tow, boat towing comprised 56 percent of all service requests and that ungroundings consisted of 11 percent of all services.
